Outstanding Students AY 2016-2017

In keeping with the department's core value of excellence, the Section of Adult Neurology held the awarding ceremonies of outstanding students in Neurosciences last August 30, 2017 at the Department of Neuroscience conference room. Leading Class 2021 as the most outstanding LU3 student in Neurosciences is Linnaeus Louisse Cruz who garnered a final grade of 1.25 in OS 202 (Neuroanatomy and Neurophysiology). The section also thanked Mr. Cruz for his generous donation to the Let's Save the Brain Foundation, Inc. National Epilepsy Awareness Week 2017

Isulong ang Laban sa Epilepsy, Iangat ang Buhay! Last September 4-8, 2017, the Department of Neurosciences hosted the celebrations for the 16th National Epilepsy Awareness Week. There was a slew of activities for everyone to participate in, from the stakeholders, patients and caregivers, to the healthcare providers. Patients and caregivers were also invited to join the focused group discussions concerning feasibility of employment as a person with epilepsy (PWE) and concepts of caregivers towards their role in the PWE's lives. UP-PGH Celebrates Stroke Week

The Department of Neurosciences spearheaded the celebration of the National Stroke Awareness Week held annually on the third week of August. This year's events included activities targeted towards all members of the health team as well as patients and their caregivers. August 22, 2017: Opening Ceremonies, Lay Forum BE FAST, the updated acronym from the American Stroke Association about stroke warning signs. Balance, Eyes, Face, Arms, Speech, Time!
